Not Your Grandma’s Doily – Spectacular Suede Crochet Doily – Free Pattern

I find some of the most fun and unusual yarns at the thrift store. The other day I came across a multicolored suede thin yarn from Italy.

I found an awesome doily pattern chart on Pinterest. The image was not linked to a source, but I found it here.

I used about half of the yarn on the skein for the pattern.

I had a bit of a hard time figuring out how to crochet the curved branches (row 4 in the black). I had to flip the doily over and work backwards before going forwards again.

One change I made was to add a row of single crochet all the way around the outside, which gave the edge a more finished look.

It was a pretty fast and easy pattern once i got the hang of it, and I love the little splashes of color along with the gray suede!
