It is so important to teach kids to love reading.

When I was a kid, I didn’t have any video games or siblings to play with, so I got addicted to reading. I read so many books that in fourth grade, I was reading at a high school level.

I would escape into fairytales and novels, and my imagination would run wild. Without realizing it, my vocabulary skills had increased well beyond my years, and I started picking up on some of the humor in books that only well-read people would notice.

I hope all parents would instill the love of reading into their children, just like my parents did for me. It helped me do well in school, and inspired me to write my own stories.
